“The History of Skiing” presentation by Duane Vandenbusche celebrating Salida Heritage Days

The free presentation by Dr. Duane Vandenbusche, a history professor from Western
Colorado University, is part of the inaugural Salida Heritage Days festival which celebrates Salida’s 139-year history in addition to recognizing Monarch Mountain’s 80th anniversary. Vandenbusche is the author of 9 books about the history of central Colorado and is a regular Monarch skier.

League of Women Voters to host Salida incumbent forum

Salida Mayor, Council Members, and Treasurer will each have 2 minutes to provide their introductory remarks immediately proceeding  with a “meet and greet” one-on-one opportunities for attendees to chat with their city government representatives. The candidate elects that will be attending are Mayor P.T. Wood, Councilwoman Jane Templeton, Councilman Elect Mike Pollock, Councilwoman Elect Alisa Pappenfort, and Treasurer Elect Merrell Bergin.

Florence Junktique Antique Show and Market

On Sept. 27 and  28, Florence, Colorado will host the biggest antique event of the year called the Junktique Antique Show and Market. The Junktique show has been a part of Florence’s Pioneer Days, this year however, there will be an additional 200 booth spaces lined along Main St. for a two-day event.
