The Colorado Brewers Rendezvous, which was previously rescheduled to October 3, has now been completely canceled.

The Salida Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Colorado Brewers Guild made the decision to cancel the 24th annual festival. Originally the festival was set to take place in July but worries surrounding the coronavirus known as COVID-19 lead to rescheduling the event. With continued uncertainty surrounding what large scale events will look like, it was decided in order to follow health regulations, the event should be canceled.

The limited-edition collector’s t-shirt and poster artwork for the 2020 event was designed by local artist Jared Jacob of Sunday Lounge. The artwork features a hops-bearded elk, set against bold colors and a Colorado mountain range. Jacob noted that the elk represents the best part of mountain living-getting outdoors and sharing great beer with friends and family.

The poster will be available for purchase at the Salida Chamber of Commerce located at 406 West Highway 50 in Salida.

Collectors t-shirts will be available for purchase online at the Salida Chamber of Commerce’s website for $35. Proceeds from the sales will directly benefit the Salida Chamber of Commerce.

“For many brewers, this is an event they look forward to every year, which is why we are obviously disappointed that we are not able to host the Rendezvous this year,” said Colorado Brewers Guild Executive Director Shawnee Adelson. “We are looking forward to gathering next year when we will be celebrating our 25th anniversary.”

Salida Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Lori Roberts said, “We continue to field calls regarding the event, and one huge ask that we heard from you was to make merchandise available so lovers of the Colorado Brewers Rendezvous could sport a shirt and raise a glass to toast all our breweries across Colorado.”

Roberts continued, “During your next visit to Salida, make sure to visit our local breweries and libations offerings and stop in the Chamber office to also purchase this year’s limited-edition poster. We are open for business and following protocol to ensure we all stay safe and ride this wave to secure good health and economic vitality.”
