The Buena Vista School District will conduct elections for vacant Board of Education directors on the November 7, 2023 ballot. Interested candidates may attend the 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 31 BV School Board meeting at 113 North Court Street in Buena Vista.
There will be Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for those interested in pursuing a position on the Board.

The five open positions are:
District Term
- District 1 – 4 years
- District 3 – 4 years
- District 4 – 4 years
- At Large – 4 years
- At Large — 2 years
According to the School District’s website, President Suzette Hachmann, Vice President Brett Mitchell, Secretary Tracy Storms, Director Olivia Bartlett, and Director Stacey Moss are those with terms expiring in November of this year. Director Lynn Montoya and Treasurer Jessica Crites have terms expiring in November 2025.
After the July 31 meeting, the Board will meet next for a study session with the Strategy Team at 5:00 p.m. Monday, August 14, and conduct their regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. on August 14.
