Chaffee County’s new commissioner Rusty Granzella and four other county officials were sworn into office on Tuesday, Jan. 8 by Chaffee County Judge William Alderton, in a ceremony in the Commissioners Meeting Room at 104 Crestone Ave.,

Following the ceremony the commissioners called the meeting to order and unanimously elected Commissioner Greg Felt as county chair and Commissioner Keith Baker county vice-chair.

Also sworn in to their offices, in quick succession were; returning Chaffee County Sheriff John Spezze, returning Chaffee County Clerk Lori Mitchell, and returning Chaffee County Assessor Brenda Mosby. Jeffery Graf was sworn in as Chaffee County coroner. The enthusiastic, standing-room-only crowd applauded after each swearing in.

Prior to the swearing in, term-limited Chaffee County Chair Dave Potts called the session to order, and addressed the room,

“I can’t begin to express what gratitude, and what a pleasure – what a privilege and honor – it has been to have been able to serve as as a Chaffee County Commissioner for the past eight years,” said Potts. “During that time, this county has done some exceptional things. Thanks everyone in Chaffee County for the honor this has been to me.”
