NewsMatch Challenge Continues as Ark Valley Voice heads into the final two weeks of this Critical Give Campaign

So far during this winter campaign, nearly 100 individuals have made donations to Ark Valley Voice in support of our local journalists and their fearless investigative work to uncover the truth about the developments, activities, and actions shaping our community and the central Colorado region that we all call home.

The thing is, this is barely .0004 percent of our total readership. While our commitment to an informed electorate in support of democracy means we do not charge for the news we publish, the fact is — it is not free to produce.

I would be so grateful if you would join us today to help Ark Valley Voice (AVV) continue to dig deep into critical issues impacting our lives, from local government’s handling of our housing challenges to putting the reins on growth — from our struggles moving toward sustainable use of our natural resources, to the environmental challenges of drought and wildfire danger.

Every one of those issues deserves our AVV approach —  summed up in our promise: “truth should have a voice.”

This kind of devoted, fact-based journalism is time-consuming — and it does cost real money to produce. Journalists are not rich (we don’t get into the business of truth because of the high salaries) but our AVV journalists do deserve to be paid for what they produce.

So the question is — do you put a price on truth? If you do, and even though you may never have donated before, we hope that this year you will choose to make a 100 percent tax-deductible donation to the AVV NewsMatch. If we can raise $15,000 in community donations by December 31, 2021 — the Institute for Nonprofit News will match that amount in support of our operating costs — all of it going to pay our journalists.

We hope we can count on your support. Just follow this link to contribute whatever you can.

Thank you!
