Based on the investigation by the Alamosa County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO), with assistance from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the 22-year-old’s remains were located in a clandestine grave in a remote area in Alamosa County at Colorado State Highways 160 and 150 on August 21, 2021.

Goins death was ruled a homicide by the El Paso County Coroner; however, the manner of death is not being released, as that information is a key component of the investigation.

Lucas Antonio Salas Jr. (DOB: 10/21/1987), Alamosa, was considered a person of interest in Goins’ disappearance, as he was one of several people to be last seen with the missing Alamosa woman.

But Salas was also the suspect killed on August 18 in an officer-involved shooting in Northglenn only six days after Goins’ disappearance. Investigators have not connected Salas to Goins’ homicide, and no arrests have been made in the case to date.

The investigation remains ongoing.
