The Ark Valley High Rollers will stage their final bout of the 2018 season Saturday, Oct. 20, versus the 10th Mountain Roller Dolls.

The Ark Valley High Rollers are bringing fast-paced flat track roller derby action back to the Chaffee County Fairgrounds when they take on the 10th Mountain Roller Dolls from Eagle.

On Saturday, Oct. 20, AVHR and 10th Mountain will go head-to-head with the first whistle blowing at 7 p.m. These two teams have a long-time friendly rivalry that will undoubtedly make for a lot of thrills and spills on the track.

A bake sale for all and libations for those 21 and older will be available.

There will be a costume contest along with skaters tossing out candy at halftime for spectators. Prizes will be given in children’s, adult and people’s choice categories.

Tickets are $10 at the door with free admission for children 10 and younger. A portion of these proceeds will be donated to Salida Racing, the Salida High School mountain bike racing team.

After the conclusion of the roller derby bout, the Ark Valley High Rollers invite fans to join them at them at Benson’s Tavern and Beer Garden in downtown Salida.

The Ark Valley High Rollers are an all-female owned and operated flat track roller derby league comprised of skaters in the Upper Arkansas Valley of Colorado. Through the sport of roller derby, the mission of AVHR is to develop and amplify the athleticism, wisdom, courage and fortitude of its skaters. AVHR aims to empower and inspire women by demonstrating physical and mental strength both on and off the track and by providing positive athletic role models to the community.
