Throughout the month of October all donations to the Ark-Valley Humane Society (AVHS) will be increased by 50 percent. Greg and Ruth Phillips along with Bob and Sarah McMahon are challenging Chaffee county residents to help raise funds for AVHS. For every donation made throughout the month, the Phillips and McMahons will add 50 percent more, to a maximum contribution of $7,000.

These contributions can also be given as a way to honor your pet or a departed loved one. The total raised will be reported at the end of the month.

The Phillips and McMahons say they are dedicated to this cause and believe in the Ark-Valley Humane Society. AVHS, for its part, says it is grateful for the support through the matching campaign and reminds the public that more than 890 animals were helped through adoptions, community spay/neuter programs and medical care in 2019.  It adds that every day the staff at AVHS work hard to improve their programs and do all they can to save more lives.

Donations can be sent to P.O. Box 1335, Buena Vista, CO 81211 or given online. Those who contribute are asked to put “Fall Matching Campaign” in the memo line of your check or select the option for online donations under Reason for Gift.
