Happening now, the Ark-Valley Humane Society is presenting its fourth annual virtual “Tails on the Trail” 5k run/walk.
Participants have until May 16, 2021 to complete their run or walk, which benefits animals that the Ark-Valley Humane Society helps and houses, as well as those adopted through the shelter.
The virtual day-of-event schedule will be streamed via their Facebook and is as follows:

- 9:00 a.m. Yoga with Andra Dolton
- 10:00 a.m. Dog Training session with Jenna Geldreich
- 11:00 a.m. Words from Executive Director Amber Van Leuken
Those who wish to participate are asked to complete their race and send a photo tagged #tott2021 on social media or by emailing them to info@ark-valley.org All registered participants will receive a commemorative event t-shirt and goody bag to be handed out after the event. (date still to be determined.) Proceeds will benefit the Ark-Valley Humane Society and 20 percent of proceeds will go to the community work of the Salida Dog Club.
Adult registration is $25 and children are $10 participating alongside adults. Children five and under are free but still must be registered.
