It’s getting close to NewsMatch time.

Ark Valley Voice Publisher and Managing Editor Jan Wondra with new Truth Has a Voice Foundation Board member Tanya Wyles.
As we close in on the end of 2023, the next six weeks are critically important to the work of Ark Valley Voice. As an independent, nonprofit news organization, we exist to give truth a voice — to provide unbiased, fact-based news and investigative journalism that doesn’t tell you what to think– it gives you things to think about.
But to keep fulfilling that mission, we are going to need your help. Every penny we raise goes to pay our local journalists — it stays right here in the community where we cover the news important to your lives.
Beginning November 16 through December 31, 2023, if we can raise $15,000 in donations from our local community, the Institute of Nonprofit News and donating foundations will match that amount.
That means every $10 donated to Ark Valley Voice through our association with the Institute for Nonprofit News to support fact-based and unbiased investigative news will be matched with $10. Every $500 donation will be matched with a $500 NewsMatch.
We are less than a week away from the start of NewsMatch. We hope this gives you a little time to think about how important news provided free to everyone so cost is not a barrier to information… news unabashedly supportive of our democracy… news based on facts and not for profit … means to you, your family, and your company.
What role does the Year-End Newsmatch Challenge play in sustaining independent journalism at Ark Valley Voice?
It plays a critical role; It is the largest fund drive of the year for the independent, nonprofit Ark Valley Voice, providing between the donations and the match about 35% of our operating budget. Without it, we would not be able to operate.
