Beginning today, Thursday, November 16, and continuing through December 31, 2023, Ark Valley Voice (AVV) is in the most important NewsMatch fund drive of the year supporting our local, independent journalism.

During this time if we can raise $15,000 in donations from our local community, the Institute of Nonprofit News and donating foundations will match that amount. That makes every $20 donated to Ark Valley Voice matched with another $20; every $500 donation will be doubled with a $500 NewsMatch.

As we close in on the end of 2023 it is difficult to put into words how important this giving time is to the work of Ark Valley Voice. As an independent, nonprofit news organization, we exist to give truth a voice — to provide unbiased, in-depth, fact-based news and investigative journalism that doesn’t tell you what to think– it gives you things to think about.

But to keep fulfilling that mission, we are going to need your help. Every penny we raise goes to pay our local journalists — it helps us fulfill our mission as a nonprofit news organization, and those wages stay right here in the community where we cover the news important to your lives; things you have a right to know about.

We hope you’ll consider your crucial role in supporting nonprofit journalism in the Arkansas River Valley. As a 501(c)(3) with the Institute for Nonprofit News as our fiscal sponsor, the local, independent Ark Valley Voice (AVV) exists to serve the public interest, not for private profit. All donations are 100 percent tax-deductible.

We are about to enter what is expected to be a contentious 2024 election environment from the top of the ticket all the way down to our local elections. Courageous journalism that gives truth a voice is more important than ever.

We hope that beginning today, you will consider how important local, fact-based news provided free to everyone — news unabashedly supportive of our democracy — means to you, your family, your business, and our valley.

We hope that you decide to step up and click the “donate” links on this page to support our award-winning work and your hard-working journalists. Our work isn’t for private profit, it is a public service.
