As of the end of August, the Ark Valley Voice “Christmas in July” giving campaign reached its goal — and then some. With a goal of $10,000, we reached $11, 358 in donations.

Thank you to every reader who donated on PayPal, used Venmo, or picked up a pen and wrote a check; thank you for believing in our mission that truth should have a voice, and translating your belief into dollars.

The donations came from some 152 donors, including individuals and corporations. The average donation was $59. Our largest individual donor wrote a check for $1,000. Our smallest contribution was $2.00 in coins from a school-age child. Among our corporate contributors, the biggest corporate contribution was  $1,000, and a small retailer chipped in $50.

We are in awe of our readers for your steadfast belief in and support of fact-based news. We are grateful for your embrace of our news coverage that asks hard questions and demands answers. News that reaches from the local streets to the state and national levels, covering where and how what happens there — impacts our lives here.

The most important part of all this — besides that our readers are now active participants in the development and delivery of unbiased local news — is that 100 percent of the donations received will go directly to pay the wages of our journalists.

It makes all of us partners in fact-based news. Because the voice of truth matters.

Our heartfelt thanks to our wonderful readers,

The Ark Valley Voice Crew
