The Salida Public Art Commission has selected 17 new designs to be painted on the blocks on the F Street Plaza. Seven blocks will also be included from last year. In the Commission’s request for proposal, they decided that no words/text will be allowed on the blocks.

Community members will begin noticing artists painting their new designs during the coming week, most likely starting June 6.

The concrete blocks are already placed, and painting will be based on a first-come, first-served basis.

City staff will paint over old designs this week and commission members will reach out to artists with any feedback or design changes.

As previously reported by Ark Valley Voice, designs were chosen by the commission to complement the aesthetics and environment of the designated F Street Plaza location and those that depict a “celebration” of Salida.
