The Chaffee Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) has a full agenda for it 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 18 regular meeting, including a review of the much-revised Private Land Camping Land Use Code; the final segment in Module I of the new Land Use Code.

The regular agenda will include a topic that may be of both general public interest and consternation: the request by BlueTriton Brands for a 1041 Extended Permit 2022 Year-end Deadline, including their Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) Easement. Their presentation document states that they will meet their December 31 project deadline, but they want to do a spring ribbon-cutting for the project.

The BoCC has been asked to consider the fee waiver of a special event application for the Two Turkey Relay, set for November 12.

Two development applications are on the agenda:

  • The Pikul Major Subdivision Sketch Plan for a parcel located at 29320 CR 361, Buena Vista.
  • The Alpine West Planned Development proposed for 15750 CR 306, Buena Vista. This proposal has been continued twice: from August 9, 2022 and September 13, 2022.

The Alpine West Major Planned Subdivision Development plan may still have more changes to it before the hearing, continued to Oct. 18.

The Consent Agenda will include a request from the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) Child  Welfare Division requesting a release of records policy from each county.  Chaffee County apparently didn’t have one. The state request notes that counties “are required to keep records of these [child welfare] services and how clients can obtain their own confidential records.”

All child welfare records are confidential and exempt from the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA). The discussion will center on the draft of a new Chaffee County confidential records request policy that meets state standards.

Also in the Consent Agenda, is a Letter of Support for the Chaffee Integrated Fuels Management Project. This proposal has been submitted by the National Forest Foundation (in coordination with Chaffee Treats and the Chaffee Envision Forest Health Council).

Also in the Consent Agenda is Resolution 2022-68 to approve the Yunikar Agricultural Subdivision Exemption (the initial application was approved by the BoCC Oct 11, 2022.
