The Boys & Girls Club of Chaffee County (BGCCC) has provided fall highlights of their activities, thanking attendees of the 2023 Great Futures Gala.

“We SO appreciate the individuals and local businesses who generously support our Chaffee County youth,” said the BGCCC in an email blast.

Both Clubs remain busy this fall with an average of more than 150 kids each day. The BGCCC, in conjunction with partners, offers fall programming, such as dance classes, chaos kitchen cooking class, Arkansas River Monster (ARMO), Halloween activities, and field trips. More information on the BGCCC’s core programs is available on their website.

The BGCCC offered congratulations to 2023 Club Heroes. Duncan Campbell has served as the BGCCC Board President for several years and Buena Vista Mayor Libby Fay has been a longstanding ally of the club. The Heroes received their award at the gala.

Greg Justis saw the Arkansas River Monster (ARMO) returned to the club this year. The kids helped to repaint and redecorate the creature. They also created miniature models of ARMO, learned about its mythology and the history of the Arkansas River, and presented the updated ARMO at the Fantasy Faire.
