Breaking news, as reported by ABC news Denver affiliate KMGH – the Douglas County Sheriff’s office received reports of shots fired at a STEM School Highlands Ranch, located at 8773 S. Ridgeline Blvd. in Highlands Ranch. The reports were made just before 2 p.m.

Two suspects have already been taken into custody. Officers are “currently engaging a third suspect” (Per ABC Denver Affiliate KMGH) and this is still an active situation.

There are conflicting reports regarding injuries at the k-12-grade school. While ABC News is reporting that at least two people are injured, The Denver Post is reporting seven to eight injuries. A Flight for Life Helicopter landed on the scene.

The school went into lockdown, and officers went from room to room to clear them.

Schools in the surrounding area, including Thunder Ridge High School located just down the street from the STEM School, are currently in lockout protocols.
