President Suzette Hachmann, Vice President Brett Mitchell, Secretary Tracy Storms, Director Olivia Bartlett, and Director Stacey Moss all have expiring terms this November. Brett Mitchell is the only incumbent candidate running for his seat again this November.
Director Lynn Montoya and Treasurer Jessica Crites have terms expiring in November 2025.
According to the timeline outlined in a candidate FAQ meeting on July 31, the ballot order will be determined by lot drawing by Election Official Hannah Jayne at 9:30 a.m. on September 8. Election day will be November 7.
While the School Board itself does not hold any public forums for candidates, local organizations (like the League of Women Voters of Chaffee County and the Truth Has A Voice Foundation) typically invite candidates to public forums to answer questions before election day.
Current board members Hachmann and Mitchell encourage candidates to attend Board meetings between now and the election to familiarize themselves with what is going on and how the meetings work.
Before the start of the August 28 regular meeting, Candidate and Current Vice President of the Board Brett Mitchell expressed concern about the lack of candidates attending meetings.
“If they’re serious they need to be here,” said Mitchell before assuring Board President Suzette Hachmann that he was not campaigning but that the lack of attendance from potential candidates was a concern.
