Buena Vista Drug is inviting children to enter a coloring contest in recognition of its 50th anniversary and Eric Carle’s children’s book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
“With Buena Vista Drug also celebrating our 50th anniversary, we are excited to host The Very Hungry Caterpillar coloring contest,” said Buena Vista Drug owner and pharmacist, Lucas Smith. “This is one of my favorite children’s books evoking many fond memories. I have enjoyed continuing the tradition by reading it to my own daughter.”
Starting today, June 3, children can pick up a contest entry form from Buena Vista Drug at 403 US Highway 24 South, Buena Vista.
The contest is open for two weeks. All entries must be handed in to Buena Vista Drug by Saturday, June 15.

There are three contest age brackets; ages 1-3, 4-7, and 8-10. One winner will be selected for each age group. Each winner will receive a 50th-anniversary edition of The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
The contest also features a People’s Choice award. Beginning Monday, June 17 and ending Saturday, June 21, patrons of Buena Vista Drug can view and vote on their favorite coloring.
The winner of the People’s Choice award will receive a grow-your-own butterfly kit.
