Buena Vista Drug the only independent, privately owned, full-service pharmacy in Chaffee County will celebrate reaching 50 years of continuous service at its current location at 403 U.S. 24, in Buena Vista, on Saturday, Aug. 17. Festivities included not just specials, giveaways and refreshments, but a live broadcast from the pharmacy from 1 to 3 p.m. by Heart of the Rockies Radio.

Celebratory remarks will be made around 1:30 p.m. A proclamation commending Buena Vista Drug for its service to the community will be delivered by Chaffee County Commissioners Greg Felt and Keith Baker
Pharmacist and owner of Buena Vista Drug, Lucas Smith, started working at Buena Vista Drug in July 2014. Lucas and his wife purchased Buena Vista Drug in August 2017.
Smith, who was born and raised in Colorado Springs, says he and his young family are excited to continue to expand Buena Vista Drug and bring new services and the highest standard of care to the community.
