Come Tuesday, January 3, the Buena Vista Library will be awash in programming options both for children and adults. The classes include the reading and activity programs you’d expect, as well as music, meditation, story times, and even a  new winter “sowing and seeding” exchange.

Adult Programming:

Beginner Ukulele
10:00 a.m., Jan. 7, 14, 21, 28.
Learn to play the ukulele in this four-week skill-building class, then hang around for the kanikapila (jam session) after. Ukuleles are available for checkout.

Qigong
5:00 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9 and 23
Qigong involves using exercises to optimize energy within the body, mind, and spirit.

Bilingual Yoga
10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10 and 24.
Calm the mind and strengthen the body in this beginner-friendly class. Please bring a yoga mat if you have one.

**New** Pilates/Meditation
12:00 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13 and 27
Deepen the mind/body connection in this spin on traditional Pilates. Begin with breathwork and guided meditation, then move into mat Pilates to improve strength and flexibility. Please bring a yoga mat if you have one.

Meditation Practice

Energy Geopolitics: Access to oil and gas has long held an influence over geopolitics and international relations. As more countries move toward sustainable energy, and supply chain shortages affect the availability of oil and gas, how will this change the way in which the United States interacts with the outside world.

Destination Story Time: In Bank

After story-time, tour the bank and see the big vault! Afterward, play money games with friends and watch the change machine in action.

Tunes for Tots (No class Jan. 16)
Every Monday at 10:00 a.m.
Audience: Ages 3 to 5
Play, sing and move with music! Kids learn to sing on pitch, keep a beat, and play instruments in this active hour of fun.

Kids Into Learning Things (KILT)

Elementary students explore a wide variety of topics. January includes introductions to Biology and Chemistry.

Beginner Recorder **New**

Audience: Ages 7 to 11 years old.
In a highly engaging, beginning recorder class, kids play the recorder, read music on the staff, including rhythms, notes and articulations. Limit 15. Registration required. All materials provided.

Reading to Rover (R2R)
