The Buena Vista School District’s Board of Education will have its regular meeting at 6:00 p.m. Monday, January 24, 2022. The meeting can be attended in person, at 113 North Court Street, as well as virtually

The board will hear a report from Finance Director Janice Martin on the district’s audited financials, amended budgets, and the quarterly fund balance. They will also be calling in an auditor from John Cutler & Associates to assist in the report. 

The board will also discuss and act on a purchase contract for the District Administration Building and the Old McGinnis gym. The administration building and the gym are two of the properties the district has elected to sell to fund capital improvements, including additional space for preschool and elementary programming as well as ADA requirements and space needs at the district administration office. 

The superintendent’s Monitoring Reports will touch on the climate around student, parent, and community treatment, the student learning environment, and discipline within the district. The board will also hear an update about Human Resources from Jenny Swango, Payroll and Benefits Manager. 

Superintendent Lisa Yates will also host her regular weekly Monday Minute Zoom call for parents and community members at 5:00 p.m., just before the regular board meeting. Community members, parents, and students can call in to ask questions and get updates on COVID, district events, and activities.
