The Buena Vista Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing regarding the town’s 2020 budget during their 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8 Trustee meeting at the town Community Center. The budget overview will be presented by Town Treasurer Michelle Stoke.

In addition to walking through the general overview of the next fiscal year budget, Stokes will also set the dates for the budget public hearings on individual components of the 2020 budget, allowing residents and business owners to ask questions and make comments about the town’s priorities.

The board plans to review the proposed Buena Vista municipal services area map. The map charts where the town’s future growth and development will occur within what is called the “Three-Mile Growth Area.” Understanding those areas is key to the town’s plans for infrastructure as well as support services such as police and fire protection.

Chaffee County Community Foundation (CCCF) Executive Director Joseph Teipel will provide an overview explaining how CCCF will administer the town’s community grant requests. The board will also review a proposed fee increase for rental of town facilities.

Also on the agenda, a resolution that, if passed, would amend the town’s building inspection and appeals board intergovernmental agreement with Chaffee County Development Services Department.
