The Buena Vista Board of Education is scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 10 at 113 North Court Street in Buena Vista (BV). Up for discussion and action are the draft DAC (District Accountability Committee) Charge 2023-2024, the board planning calendar, and the revision of design work for the preschool.

The consent agenda includes approval of contracts for licensed personnel, notification of employment agreements for classified staff, notification of resignation/retirement, and May financials.
According to the agenda, the board may move into executive session for reasons allowable pursuant to Colorado Revised Statutes. 24-6-402 (4).
The Colorado Sunshine Law “requires [the] announcement of topic for discussion, citation to authorizing law, identification of particular matter to be discussed, and a two-thirds vote of the quorum present” for a local body entering into an executive session. No reason is identified in the agenda for this executive session.
A future meeting is set for July 31 which will include an “Interested Candidates for Board of Education FAQ.” Several seats on the BV Board of Education are up for election this November. According to the Buena Vista School District’s websites, the term expirations in November of this year include board President Suzette Hachmann, Vice President Brett Mitchell, Secretary Tracy Storms, Director Olivia Bartlett, and Director Stacey Moss.
