The Buena Vista Board of Education’s April 25, 2022, meeting will include a linkage with the District Accountability Committee (DAC). The meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the District Administration Building, located at 113 North Court Street in Buena Vista.

As stated on the district website, Educational Accountability in the state of Colorado is legislated through CRS (Colorado Revised Statutes) 22-11-102. One aspect of that accountability is the establishment of a DAC to allow for the input of parents, educators, administrators, and the community in setting clearly defined statewide academic performance objectives.

The membership of the DAC will include at least three parents of students enrolled in district public schools, at least one teacher who is employed by the school district, at least one school administrator who is employed by the school district, and at least one person who is involved in business in the community within the school district boundaries. The list of the DAC’s community members can be found on the district website.

The board will also follow up on a previous discussion item, the process of naming buildings in the district, which was tabled at their April 11 meeting. Meetings are open to the public and include time for public comments. Meeting agendas and packets are available on the district’s website.
