Chaffee Arts has put out the invitation to members of the community to submit their pieces for the Holiday Art Market. The market will be held from November 20 to December 28 at the Arkansas Valley Digital Imaging Gallery (AVDI) located at 317 East Main Street in Buena Vista. AVDI is looking for small to medium-sized gift items that can easily be displayed, priced in various ranges.

Fibers, glass, jewelry, ceramics, wood, mixed media, and more are being accepted. There is no room for wall art but cards and notecards are also being accepted.

Interested parties should email five photos to sarah@whitewaterphotography.com that are representative of the work they wish to display. The deadline for submissions is October 15. Artists will be notified of AVDI’s decision by October 31. Dues must be paid to Chaffee Arts in order to participate. To ensure dues are up to date, contact chaffeearts@gmail.com.

This will be a juried event and due to COVID-19 artists cannot be present to sell their pieces because of social distancing guidelines. AVDI will handle all sales transactions.

There is no fee for table space, but the commission will split the same way as the Chaffee Arts Wall. This means that 60 percent will go to the artist, 30 percent to AVDI, and 10 percent to Chaffee Arts. Payments to artists will be sent no later than January 5, 2021.

Takedown of unsold arts items must be complete by December 29 and scheduled by appointment. Tables will be provided but individual displays such as busts or racks must be provided by the artist. All artists will set up their own art after making an appointment, on November 18. All items must be marked with price tags and an inventory sheet with contact information as well as a mailing address.
