Most locals are used to businesses (especially restaurants) being closed on Dec. 25, Christmas Day, and especially with it being on a Sunday this year. They deserve a break with their families too.

Coffee and a pastry anyone?

Ark Valley Voice  knows that the Salida Community Center will offer their usual Christmas Dinner and AVV has learned of one restaurant in Salida being open Sunday evening, Dec. 25.

We would like to add any others from all parts of Chaffee County. Surely there are places open for a few hours for coffee, breakfast or other snacks, either downtown or out on the highways. Are you ready to help hungry locals and visitors who may not be sitting down a to a large family gathering?

If you’re located in Buena Vista, Poncha Springs, Salida or any parts of the county and plan to be open for even limited service for a part of the Christmas Day, please send a text to 303-601-1785 by end of day Thursday, Dec. 22, with business name, your name, times and services offered.

And, if you’re a shop owner or entertainment venue that’s open this Sunday, let us know that as well.

Ark Valley Voice will post a list of those places open, alongside the usual government and bank closures on Friday, Dec. 23 to help you plan your Sunday.
