The Central Colorado Climate Coalition raised more than $2,700 for its programs hosting Hoedown for the Climate: A Family Folk Music Event at the Coaldale Schoolhouse on Saturday, Sept. 25.
The event featured acrobatic performances by the Salida Circus and a tailgate picnic time at the School building.
Music inside the schoolhouse featured local musicians including Bruce Warren, Dave Tipton, Chris Leydon, Jim Anderegg, Lisa MacPherson and Benny Bowmaster.
Organized in 2013, the Central Colorado Climate Coalition is dedicated to raising awareness about global warming and the climate crisis and working with government and other organizations in working toward developing climate change mitigation practices.
