Today’s Chaffee Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) work session will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 6 and it will include a summary of the Colorado Legislative Session presented by District 61 State Representative Julie McCluskie.

Also on the work session agenda is a housing update from Chaffee Housing Authority, a presentation of the 2021 Report on the Health of Colorado’s Forests, Chaffee County Projects and Discussion about Wildfire Management and Local Forest and a discussion of potential commissioner ballot issues.

The BoCC will also consider the first reading of a “Fire Ban Ordinance Restricting Open Fires And Open Burning In The Unincorporated Areas Of Chaffee County And Providing Penalties For Violation Of Such Ordinance,” although no official action can be taken on the measure in a work session.

The BoCC will adjourn in mid-afternoon into two executive sessions; one related to budget questions, the other to get legal and strategic advice on questions involving potential land use.
