The Chaffee Arts Board of Directors has made a unanimous decision to reschedule the 2020 Open Awards Art Show to spring, 2021, held at the Buena Vista Heritage Museum Courthouse Gallery.

Chaffee Arts had originally postponed the show to the fall of 2020. But with mounting concerns regarding the coronavirus known as COVID-19 and questions surrounding the reopening of the county, as well as no vaccine to prevent the spread of the virus, postponement to next year seemed the safer move. In the past, the show has drawn large crowds.

In order to continue social distancing measures, it was decided that the best option is to reschedule the show for the spring of 2021. Chaffee Arts will credit artists who have already registered and paid their entry fee to 2021. Underwriter’s donations will also be credited for 2021.

While the show has been pushed back due to COVID-19 concerns, the community can still view the art via the Chaffee Arts Virtual Gallery on Facebook and on the Chaffee Arts website.

Plans call for the Buena Vista Library to host an exhibit featuring 15 Chaffee Arts members during June and July. Throughout summer and fall, AVDI Art Gallery will also host featured members.
