Clerk Lori Mitchell announced Friday morning that there were not enough ballots returned today to warrant the early election processes that were to start as of 10:00 a.m. today.
“This early ballot processing includes signature verification, deconstruction, and ballot receiving,” said Mitchell in a message. “The daily schedule is fluid and dependent on ballot returns.” She adjusted the schedule with election volunteers and watchers, announcing that formal early ballot processing will now begin at 10:00 a.m.Monday, Oct. 25.
Voters who have not yet received a ballot, or need a replacement because the ballot is lost or arrived damaged need to order a replacement ballot by Oct. 25. Contact the Chaffee County Elections Office at 719-530-5604 or elections@chaffeecounty.org or stop by in-person at 104 Crestone, Salida today for assistance with a replacement ballot.
After Oct. 25 voters will need to appear in person to obtain a replacement ballot. Visit GoVoteColorado.gov to verify or update your mailing address.
This is also the final week to put your ballot in the mail so the Elections Office can receive it on time. If you do not mail it this week, it will need to be dropped off in person at Chaffee County’s Voter Service and Polling Centers (VSPC).
