The Chaffee Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) will convene beginning at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, for a regular meeting packed with agenda items. It will attempt to fly through at least 14 other agenda items, before convening at 11:00 a.m. as the county’s 1041 Permit Authority to continue the public hearing on the  Nestlé Waters North American/Blue Triton Brands 1041 permit application.

The BoCC has continued the public hearing on the controversial permit from June 24, June 15, May 18, May 4, April 20, March 16, February 16, 2021 and originally continued from December 15, 2020. The company is seeking a ten-year renewal of their existing 1041 Permit for a spring water production process, and associated transmission pipeline and loading facility.

All documents regarding this hearing may be found on the Chaffee County Public Notice website at http://www.chaffeecounty.org/Public-Notice

Prior to that public hearing, the BoCC will consider approving Resolution 2021-49 authorizing the RGP Industrial Par Major Subdivision Plat Amendment and consider approving Resolution 2021-48 for the Ortiz Road and Alley Vacation Right of Way.

It will review resolutions for three heritage water subdivision exemptions (the Williams-O’Hare Heritage Water Subdivision Exemption, the Lofgren Heritage Water Subdivision Exemption, and the Nighthawk Heritage Water Subdivision) and consider waiving the fees for six homes to be constructed at M and 3rd Streets by the Chaffee Housing Trust.

The county also plans to adopt new county operating hours as it adjusts out of the COVID-19 pandemic operating environment, as well as designating areas of public assembly. For the first time, it will also outline unauthorized activities on county properties.  It will do this just prior to reviewing Resolution 2021-50 — the ratification and extension/Amendment #13 of Declaration of Local Disaster Emergency.
