The Chaffee Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) will meet beginning at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 3 in regular session in the Commissioners Meeting Room at 104 Crestone Avenue in Salida.
A single grant is on the agenda; consideration of a request from the Upper Arkansas Area Development Corporation for a Community Development Block Grant – Business Loan Funds Application.
The BoCC will begin its regular agenda items with a Chaffee Housing Authority Update by executive director Ashley Kappel, and go on to a recommendation for Chaffee Housing Authority Board member to fill Chaffee County seat, due to the early term resignation of Rob Gartzman.

Two public hearings are on the regular agenda:
- A Public Hearing on amending the “Application and Renewal Fee Schedule for Short Term Rentals”. Commissioners will consider Resolution 2023-86, written to continue adjusting the county’s short-term rental regulations.
- A Public Hearing on an amendment to text within the county’s Land Use Code addressing accessory dwelling unit workforce housing density that might create exemptions.
Next on the agenda is the consideration of two final letters of support: one to support the Visionary Broadband for Advance-CPF application, under the county’s “Invitation to Negotiate”, the other to support the Vero Broadband for Advance-CPF application (this is the third proposed broadband project), under the county’s Invitation to Negotiate process.
The BoCC will end by going into executive session to receive legal advice on specific legal questions regarding pending lawsuits against the County per CRS § 24-6-402(4)(b)
