The Chaffee Board of County Commissioners will convene at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 15 at the Buena Vista Community Center at 715 E. Main Street in Buena Vista for their regular meeting.

Included in the BoCC’s regular agenda items is a request to consider matching funds for the “Quin Lewis Project” at the Fairgrounds, a resolution that would set the language for a Northern Chaffee County Library District Ballot Issue for November 2023, and approval of a Memorandum of Understanding ( MOU) with the City of Salida Regarding Maintenance Responsibility for the Touber Building, which both local governments share.

Following routine public comment and approvals of the agenda and minutes of prior meetings, the board will review a series of grants and contract agreements on behalf of the county including a grant modification extending the grant term and increasing the grant by $30,000 from the National Association of County and City Health to  the Chaffee County Department of Public Health (CCDPH) for its collaboration with Pharmacies and STI Care, as well as review two marketing software agreements.

Among the more important items on the agenda, the BoCC will consider approval of the recommendation for the award for the Chaffee County Fairgrounds Design Services RFP Bid Response.

They will also review a broadband invitation to negotiate CPF Grants with the Colorado Broadband Office and review for approval a grant application submission to the Department of Transportation under  a new Rural & Tribal Assistance Pilot Program

Convened as the Board of Equalization they will consider an appeal of a property valuation for  Robert and Marilyn Sheesley which is being heard after the property valuation due to the delayed delivery of certified mail.

Following the regular meeting, the BoCC may take a field trip to St Elmo for a ditch infrastructure/headgate assessment.
