The agenda for the 9 a.m. June 19 Chaffee County Commissioners meeting includes consideration of a possible amendment to ordinance 2006-12 (covering open fires and open burning). In light of the high fire danger faced by Chaffee County and surrounding counties, including lack of moisture, commissioners may consider adding penalties for violation of the ordinance “to protect the health, safety and welfare of county residents.”
Commissioners have received proposed changes to an engineering agreement with Martin/Martin Inc. for the Browns Canyon bridge project. Those changes will become part of a general discussion about the project as a whole, including input from Melanie Roth of the Chaffee County Heritage Area Advisory Board.
Also a part of the regular meeting to be held at the Buena Vista School District offices, 113 N. Court, is a presentation by Cindy Williams on the final report on the Envision Chaffee County process. Commissioners will also discuss the timeline that must be met if the county were to add questions to the ballot in the November election.
They will consider a resolution rescinding approval of the final plat for the double helix minor subdivision, discussed at length in a May commissioners meeting, as well as a resolution approving the Homestake Arkansas River Diversion Improvement application.
