Among the many items on the agenda for the March 2 Chaffee Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) session is consideration of an architect recommendation for design of the county’s EMS/Public Safety Building for Northern Chaffee County. The project has under discussion for some time, as the county has dealt with the COVID-19 emergency.

Also important will be a discussion of a request from the Chaffee Housing Trust to waive the building permit fees on eight restricted affordable homes in the River Ridge development.

The BoCC will conduct a public hearing for the Schalit Boundary Line Adjustment at 7857 and 7893 County 150, Salida and will consider supporting a grant request by Historic St. Elmo from the Colorado State Historical Fund for a boxcar interpretive station.

Convened as the Chaffee County Landfill Committee, Commissioners will consider resolution 2021-28, amending landfill fees, and discuss a RREO Grant for Waste Diversion at the landfill.

Commissioners will also consider four appointments to the Airport Board, and an appointment to fill a vacancy on the Common Ground Citizens Advisory Committee. They will discuss a support letter for the reappointment of  Marie Haskett to the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission.
