As a part of its 9 a.m. Feb. 5 regular meeting, the Chaffee County Board of Commissioners will appoint new members to several county boards, shaping the action of these boards for the year ahead. Also during their Tuesday session, commissioners will take up the renewal of the Chaffee County EMS ambulance service and vehicle license and consider a resolution formally approving the Cozart Estates Major Subdivision.
The BoCC will conduct two public hearing: one for the Mountain Shadows Major Subdivision, located at 12500 CR 140 outside Salida, and a second public hearing for the zoning map amendment requested by Heart of the Rockies Camping, at its location at 16105 W. U.S. 50.
Commissioners will be asked to consider a building fee waiver for the DeAnza Vista project, a business item continued from the commissioners’ Jan. 22 meeting. The building is designed to include much-needed low-income housing.
During their Tuesday session, commissioners will consider appointments to nine county boards, another member to the Salida Regional Library board and three new members to the Salida Regional Planning Commission. Appointments to the county boards including the unmanned Aircraft Systems Advisory Board, the Heritage Area Advisory Board, the Transportation Board and the Fair Committee, as well as the Airport Board, the Board of Adjustment, the Marijuana Excise Tax Advisory Board and the Heritage Area Advisory Board Representative of the Ranching Community. Also up for appointments will be the Right to Ranch board, now oddly being called the “Agricultural Land Use Conflict Board,” a definition that appears to narrow its former scope of responsibility.
