Leading the list of agenda topics for the 9 a.m. July 3 Chaffee County Commissioners meeting is an item tabled during their June 19 session: consideration of an ordinance restricting open fires and open burning and the establishment of penalties for violation of the ordinance. The county is surrounded by Stage 2 fire restrictions on U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management land, while the municipalities of Buena Vista and Salida have canceled Fourth of July fireworks.

During the meeting, scheduled for the county administration building located at 104 Crestone Ave. in Salida, commissioners will review proposed changes for the engineering agreement for the Browns Canyon bridge project and evaluation of the project as a whole. The topic was continued from the June 19 commissioners meeting.

Also on the agenda is an overview by Mike McCabe of the Chaffee County Solar Garden proposal and a review of a lot line adjustment for Heart of the Rockies Campground, 16105 W. U.S. Highway 50, Salida.
