The Chaffee County Community Foundation (CCCF) will be joining the Community First Foundation to host a training for local nonprofits for participation in Chaffee GIVES for Colorado Gives Day 2019. The training will be in Salida from 9 to 11 a.m on Tuesday, Aug. 13, at the Scout Hut, 210 E. Sackett Ave. The event is free to non-profit representatives.

CCCF is joining Colorado Gives Day 2019 annual statewide online fundraising event to support local nonprofits. The director of Online Giving for the Community First Foundation, Dana Rinderknecht, will lead the training on registration and best practices in Salida for those hoping to participate in the Chaffee GIVES for Colorado Gives Day 2019.

A recent press release from CCCF outlined the benefit of such a training program. According to CCCF Executive Director Joseph Teipel, “for the last two years, Chaffee nonprofits only raised an average of $3,500 each during the one-day event. We believe this simply is due to lack of awareness. By connecting locals with area non-profits, our county will benefit.  That’s why we’re holding workshops now – to help nonprofits spread the word – ‘a rising tide floats all boats’ and everyone benefits.  That’s why we’re holding workshops and being a Colorado Gives Day Regional Champion.”

The CCCF has encouraged that anyone looking for more information on how the CCCF can support nonprofits, businesses or personal charitable needs, email him at joseph@chaffeecommunity.com.
