The Nov. 2 Coordinated Election is rolling, as mail ballots have been in-home for nearly a week, and voting began exactly two weeks prior to election day. Three entities are participating in this coordinated election: The City of Salida, the Buena Vista School District, and the Salida School District.

Chaffee County Clerk and Recorder Lori Mitchell reports that the election processes have gotten underway smoothly, although ballot receipts so far appear somewhat slower than normal.

Oct. 25 to Nov. 1  Voter Service and Polling Center in Salida will be open at the Scout Hut (210 East Sackett Ave. in Salida)

  • 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday
  • 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Saturday, Oct. 30

Nov. 1   Voter Service and Polling Center in Buena Vista will open at the Community Center (715 East Main St.)

  • 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Nov. 2  Election Day for the 2021 Coordinated Election. Ballots must be received by 7:00 p.m. (postmarks do not count.) Both Voter Service and Polling Centers in Salida and Buena Vista will be open 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Locations to drop off mail ballots: 24-hour-a-day, 7-days-a-week ballot drop boxes are located at 104 Crestone Ave., Salida, and at 112 Linderman Ave., Buena Vista. You can also drop off your ballot at the Elections Office in Salida located at 104 Crestone Ave., Salida, during business hours.
