The Chaffee County Community Foundation (CCCF) announced this week that donations for Colorado Gives Day 2022 exceeded local fundraising goals, with gifts for Chaffee County nonprofits totaling more than $200,000 – surpassing a major milestone for the first time.

Contributions from 996 unique donors through the website totaled $204,536 this year, benefitting 49 local nonprofit organizations. This marks a substantial funding increase of $20,309 and 11 percent over last year’s donations.

“As the regional champion of Colorado Gives Day, the CCCF team is blown away and incredibly thankful for the generous spirit of our community, and we’re equally proud of the nonprofits who worked so hard with us to make this year’s campaign such a success,” said Chaffee County Community Foundation Executive Director Betsy Dittenber. “Our community came together to break $200,000 for the very first time and to achieve 1,642 donations through ChaffeeGIVES.org. This level of support just shows that we live in a truly special place where our neighbors value and empower the nonprofits making a positive, tangible difference here in Chaffee County.”

Working within the community to expand the reach of ChaffeeGives.org, CCCF boosted nonprofit participation and raised awareness for 49 local organizations on the website, up from 36 in 2021 – a 36 percent increase.

CCCF also directly raised $20,948 for its foundation, which helps facilitate important community conversations, foster philanthropy, and invest in the nonprofit sector throughout Chaffee County and the surrounding areas. Gifts to CCCF will additionally help improve the foundation’s ability to respond quickly and effectively to community needs.

Across Colorado, 73,000 unique donors raised more than $55 million dollars for 3,151 nonprofits serving the state for Colorado Gives Day 2022, which remains one of the most credible, reputable, and well-known fundraising events in Colorado.
