Chaffee County Hospitality, Inc. (CCHI) has reopened both their men and women’s shelters. As previously reported by Ark Valley Voice, the men’s shelter is now located at First Christian Church at D St and Fourth Street in Salida. The women’s shelter is now at Salida United Methodist, which is located at 228 East 4th Street.

Both shelters now have more room with large basement areas. The shelters are still open from 8:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. with no reservations needed. CCHI supplies sleeping bags, sleeping pads and pillows to those in need. There is a capacity of ten people per shelter. Typically, the men’s shelter houses seven to eight people every night and the women’s two to three.
