Just two cases of COVID-19 were reported by the Chaffee County Department of Public Health in the past seven days; a 31 year-old female from the south end of the county and a 22 year-old male from the north end of the county. Both were described as symptomatic and resting at home.

The total number of cases stands at 318, not counting 17 infections in out-of-county persons detected here. The number of deaths remains unchanged at 19 deaths among infected people, 14 attributed solely to the virus.

Health officials said that in the past two weeks, the county positivity rate has dropped to two percent.

There were no reported COVID-19 patients being treated currently at Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center, and the hospital patient capacity was reported at 52 percent.

 

For the state, the CDPHE reported 57,775 cases thus far with more than 7,000 people hospitalized. More than 714,500 people have tested, with 1,946 deaths among infected people; 1,853 of those deaths directly attributed to the virus.
