The Chaffee County Right to Ranch Board will meet beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 27 in the Commissioners Meeting Room, located at 104 Crestone Ave. Salida.
The purpose of the meeting is to review current policies and procedures for how the Right to Ranch Board will conduct business.
This meeting is considered a follow-up to the board’s Jan. 22 meeting, its first in more than a year, at which it elected officers. During that meeting, board members discussed their discomfort with the county’s Right to Ranch policies.
A few pointed out that the policies presented to them did not seem to be in agreement with state statutes protecting the rights of ranchers and farmers to conduct their livelihoods without harassment.
