The pledge is an outreach program and education project which supports outdoor recreation, economic and visitor growth in Chaffee. It encourages responsible recreation, stewardship principles, and best practices for visitors and residents recreating in the outdoors.

The Chaffee County Visitors Bureau says that it believes that stewardship of the environment is everyone’s responsibility. They are asking visitors and community members to help them protect and preserve the county so future generations can enjoy it.
As a way of saying thanks for pledging to care for our public lands and recreate responsibility, participants will receive a free Discovery Pass.
Discovery Pass is a smartphone-based savings pass which features more than 60 local businesses in Chaffee and over $800 in deals for eats, drinks, shops, lodging and experiences.
