“We received nine grant applications with requests for more than twice the amount of funds that were available in this grant program,” said Youth Program Coordinator with Chaffee County Family & Youth Initiatives, Dibby Olson. “It was a very hard decision; all of the great proposals were a testament to the many strong youth-serving organizations and programs here in the community.”

Funding provided through the CCYA grant program will support pro-social experiences for hundreds of Chaffee County youth, ranging from COVID-safe intergenerational birthday celebrations with Columbine Manor residents to confidence-building sports-and recreation-based clubs, and peer-tutoring programs to non-violent communication trainings with schools.
