Update: With snow still falling throughout much of Chaffee County this morning, and in consideration of the safety of staff and the traveling public and based on the continued wintry weather, reduced visibility, and snowy forecast for the remainder of the day, all Chaffee County Government facilities and offices will be closed to the public today, Wednesday, February 15,
The County anticipates being back to normal business operations tomorrow, Thursday the 16th. Updates will be shared with the public as soon as possible if that changes.
Original announcement: With snow still falling throughout much of Chaffee County this morning, Chaffee County government offices first announced a delayed start today at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 15.
“Based on inclement weather, significant overnight snow accumulation, and hazardous travel conditions, Chaffee County Government offices and public facilities will be opening late today,” read the county’s official notification.
Most County departments will delay opening until 10:00 a.m. in order to allow time for roads to be cleared and for conditions to improve. “If you are able, please consider limiting travel today to essential trips only,” added the county’s message.
