The Chaffee Democrats have organized their annual picnic-fundraiser for 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6 at the historic Hutchinson Homestead. There will be live music, snacks, and beverages, along with the ice cream truck. This is an outdoor event and you don’t have to be a registered Democrat to attend.

Several local, state, and Congressional candidates will be attending for a meet and greet, including Dave Young Colorado State Treasurer, Katherine Green and Julie McCluskie for the Colorado House, and Brittany Pettersen for U.S. House District 7.
Local candidates P.T. Wood (District 3 County Commissioner candidate) Lori Mitchell (County Clerk and Recorder) and Jeff Graf (County Coroner) will be giving remarks.
Recommended donation is $30 per person for ages 14 and up. Children’s activities are planned so parents can take part in the gathering.
Note that parking is limited at the Homestead. For this reason, it is recommended that individuals plan on parking at the Crossroads Welcome Center, Hwy 50 and 285 in Poncha Springs. The Chaffee Shuttle is providing round-trip transport from the Welcome Center starting at 3:10 p.m. and then at the end of the picnic event.
