On Sunday, October 23, the Chaffee County Clerk and Recorder’s Office received 127 mail ballots. Total Chaffee County ballots received to date: 495.
Enthusiasm for early-return ballots appears to be running higher than in previous mid-term elections. Clerk and Recorder Lori Mitchell reports that at this same point in time in 2018, Chaffee County had received only 77 ballots.

Vote Centers Open
The Salida Vote Center opened at 8:00 a.m. Monday, October 24 at the Scout Hut, 210 East Sackett Ave.
Hours are:
8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Mon-Friday
8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Saturday Nov. 5
7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Election Day November 8
The Buena Vista Vote Center at the BV Community Center hours:
10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4
10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov 5
10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday Nov. 7
7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Election Day Nov. 8
A third Vote Center will open in Poncha Springs at the Fairgrounds

Voters can vote in person, drop off their mail ballot, register then vote, receive a replacement mail ballot, or vote on an accessible voting tablet.
Voters can also receive a replacement mail ballot by visiting the elections office at 104 Crestone Ave., Salida. Voters can call 719-530-5604 for more information.
