The Chaffee Housing Trust (CHT) will hold its annual meeting from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 22 at A Church, located at 419 D Street in Salida.
During its annual meeting, CHT holds board elections and does an annual recap of its activity for 2022. The meeting is low-key, and members of the public are welcome to attend.
The Chaffee Housing Trust works to provide affordable housing in Chaffee County
CHT is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and its goal is to provide more permanently affordable housing for the workforce of Chaffee and Lake counties.
The CHT provides homeownership opportunities to low and moderate-income county residents and workers who are priced out of the local housing market. The CHT uses the community land trust model of shared-equity ownership, provides homebuyer-readiness services, and acts either as developer, or as partners with developers to build affordable housing.
Then, the CHT stewards properties in perpetuity to ensure that local affordable housing stock stays affordable and the community maintains control over land assets.
To get renters ready to become homeowners, CHT also provides interactive webinars on a variety of homebuyer readiness workshop topics, throughout the year in both English and Spanish.
