While not exactly defining what or who is a “patriotic comedian,” the Chaffee Patriots group has announced this as the program theme for their Friday, February 10 meeting.
The movie night program begins at 6:30 p.m. and runs to 8:00 p.m. in the Church Hall of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, at 118 South Gunnison Avenue, Buena Vista.
Chaffee Patriots President Dennis Heap has also announced that they will be doing flag waving on the corner of Main Street and Highway 24. between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon Saturday, February 11.
While on the topic of flags, some of the flags that remain posted along county roads and along U.S. 285 reportedly claimed by the Chaffee Patriots, are looking pretty punk (or unlit at night), which surely is not respectful of this national symbol.
Thank you for sharing the announcement on the February 10th Town Hall. The Patriotic Comedian was Abbott & Costello-Buck Privates with the Andrews Sisters performing the Academy Award nominated song ‘Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy’ The DVD was lots of fun and proved to be a good respite from world events.
The Patriots display Highway Flags north of the Nathrop Post Office. All those flags were taken down September 6, 2022, and new Flags will be put back up the last of May 2023, prior to Memorial Day.
Donations for the Highway Flag initiative can be mailed to Chaffee County Patriots, POB 50, Buena Vista, CO 81211.
Thank you,
Dennis Heap, President
Patriotic Comedian = washed-up has-been who sees an opportunity to put some money in the bank by pandering to a group of people who are desperate for validation of their fringe beliefs.
I’m sure it’ll be a great time.
Suggested performer . . . Marjorie Taylor Greene. She thinks of herself as pretty darn funny!
